{2 ingredient} Paleo Banana Mousse

Let me just tell you how great I feel after doing Paleo for almost 2 weeks now! I feel like dancing and singing from the rooftop. I have increased energy, my tummy has been behaving quite nicely, my skin is totally smooth (hallelujah!), and my moods have been marvelous. I love that we can have so much control over how we feel and look, and that it is relatively easy to make these changes, naturally. It’s empowering.

Sugar is probably the hardest thing for me to cut out—it’s my total weakness. But, I have found a number of ways to have sweet treats that don’t have any added sugar in them! Fruit is fine, thank goodness, and as long as you don’t eat a ton of fruit every day, you will still be doing Paleo and feeling great. I usually have fruit 2-3 times a day, and that is perfect! I make sure to eat fruits that are high in antioxidants, like blueberries and blackberries, as well as fruits that are good for my skin, like cantaloupe and a small amount of avocado {which my tummy has been fine with!}.

This mousse is quite possibly the best Paleo dessert hack that I’ve come up with. It is perfectly sweet, does not bother my tummy one bit, and contains coconut—a healthy fat. Paleo really is not about counting calories, so if you are trying it as well, do your best not to stress about your caloric intake. Seriously, the pounds will melt off! If you are worried, you can absolutely limit your nut and fruit consumption. Try it for a week and see for yourself! If you need help with some meal options, let me know. I’d be happy to help.

{2 ingredient} Paleo Banana Mousse

1 can coconut cream (Trader Joe’s is the best)

1-2 large ripe banana, sliced (1 will be less sweet, more subtle—great for a whipped cream!)

(that’s it!)


Put your can of coconut cream (not milk) in the fridge overnight. Once completely chilled, remove the top and scoop out the thick cream into a bowl.

Add in your sliced banana and whip with an electric hand mixer for about a minute. That’s it! You can start with one banana, then add another if you want it sweeter.

You can also just mash the banana and add it to the cream and blend with a fork, if you’d like. This will give you a pudding with some larger banana chunks in it. Both ways are great!

You can eat it as is, or you can add it on top of fruit as a whipped cream. I put it on top of my Paleo Almond Pancakes, and it was fabulous! While this mousse is wonderful as is, here are some additional add-in options if you’d like, while also keeping it Paleo!

-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

-handful of nuts as choice as a garnish

-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

-handful of berries of choice, either to garnish or mixed/whipped in

-handful unsweetened cacao nibs
